In his position as Chief Security & Compliance Officer at ICE, John brings more than 25 years of technical and engineering experience, along with a comprehensive understanding of international cybersecurity and IT infrastructure guidelines and best practices. He has helped many companies gain certification in areas including ISO 27001/2, Hitrust, HIPAA, NIST, GDPR, SOC 2, CLIA, and CMMC. Before ICE, he worked for more than five years at Cisco in Senior Network Architect positions, working with Home Depot, MGM Grand, iHerb, and Fidelity Investments. He also served in the U.S Army and Army Reserve, Retired Sergeant First Class, working on missile guidance systems, and as a control technician for land combat and Army Logistician. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas, Dallas and holds an AS from Richland College, and has advanced training in electronics and logic technical training from the U.S. Army Missile & Munitions Center & School. In his spare time, he enjoys amateur auto racing, off-roading in the mountains, golf, archery (he is a US National Judge!), and is a ham radio enthusiast.
